Frequently Asked Questions

We do offer an express service for urgent requirements and this generally cuts the lead time in half but does come at a premium of 50% extra (please enquire about this directly)

Buy Glass can offer trade discounts please enquire directly and we will contact you to discuss your requirements?

Buy Glass can accept templates but we would also you to deliver them to our BuyGlass Huddersfield processing facility.

Templates must be rigid and accurate, ply board, MDF are ideal materials to use.

We may be able to collect templates if we have vehicles in the area for an additional cost.

Prices for templates work would be on application.

Generally the glass will be loose loaded for manual offloading by yourselves / your own labour, we provide kerb side delivery, therefore you will need labour on site to offload the glass to a suitable area and sign for the delivery.

Alternatively the glass can be packed on timber A frames with the glass banded to the frame. The frame can then be forklift offloaded from the vehicle, the A frames are chargeable and refundable on return.

Glass does not generally come packaged but if you require your order to be bubble wrapped etc please state this when ordering and this can be arranged

This depends of the glass specification but typically monolithic toughened glass would be 7 working days and toughened laminate glass would be 14 working days.

For designs / colours etc we would offer a lead time based on the requirements.

I am afraid not once the glass is toughened it is in its finished state and cannot be re-worked in any way.

A replacement panel would need to be ordered to correct a mistake such as this. For any panels with technical details such as holes, cutouts or where the glass is shaped we provide technical drawings (or work from yours), which must be approved before work begins.

Buy Glass cannot outright advise on a given specification for a certain application. This would need to be part of the design process and is often carried out in conjunction with building control and a glass specialist structural engineer due to the many variables involved. However based on our experience we can recommend likely glass types for applications which will hopefully point you in the right direction.
