Start with the application

The owner commonly considers 5–6mm toughened glass, often 6mm for larger or long panels. Low iron is an option for closer colour fidelity. Heat-source clearances, fixing and suitability require supplier review. Socket cut-outs need dimensioned drawings and the actual manufacturer’s internal corner radius.

Useful things to tell the supplier

• Hob or worktop location?
• Paint reference, outline and socket drawings?
• Standard machining or a specialist waterjet request?

Simple or Advanced?
